Indications

Catarrhal ailments of the upper respiratory tract: rhino-laryngopharyngitis, bronchitis, whooping cough at all stages. An effective expectorant in chronic bronchitis, bronchial asthma, coughing fits in tuberculosis.

Mode of action

R9 causes the initiation and recruitment of the defensive system of the organism through active homeopathic remedies, which exert marked organotropic effects on the mucous membranes of the upper respiratory tract.

Belladonna: Convulsive coughing attacks, hollow and barking cough; dryness of the mucosa; sudden, violent onset.

Bryonia: Harsh and dry cough with retrosternal or thoracic pain.

Coccus cacti: Hypersensitivity of the pharyngeal mucosa. Spasmodic cough with viscous, stringy expectoration; whooping cough.

Corallium rubrum: Violent, rapid, explosive fits of coughing, causing suffocation.

Cuprum aceticum: Spasmodic cough; dyspnea; viscous mucus.

Drosera: Convulsive barking cough with cyanosis and suffocation; spasmodic asthma; coughing causes intercostal or abdominal pains.

Ipecacuanha: Dry asphyxial cough with glottis spasm, nausea and vomiting.

Spongia: Hollow cough, cough at night; dry, croupous wheezing cough.

Sticta: Chills move down from the nose to the pharynx and trachea, initiating the onset of bronchitis. Pressure or fullness at the root of the nose; nocturnal cough.

Thymus vulgaris: Expectorant and antitussive.
