R2 | Cardiac neurosis
Indications
Structural and functional affections of the heart - primarily cardiac neurosis; nervous perturbations; arrhythmia, tachycardia, extrasystole, constriction; angina pectoris; coronary insufficiency; increase in pulse rate, palpitations; sensations of pain and pressure in the heart; vegetative dystonia; coronary sclerosis.
Mode of action
Aconitum napellus: Cardiac neurosis with fear and agitation; angina pectoris.
Arnica montana: Sensation of pain in the heart. Cardiac conditions of nervous origin.
Aurum chloratum: Main action on myocardium, aorta and coronary artery. Heart oppressions and dilatations, afflux of blood to the head, precordial pains.
Cactus grandiflorus: Sensation of suffocation; elevated pulse, oppression (feeling as though heart is being held in a vise). Stenocardia and angina pectoris.
Crataegus: Tonic for the heart and circulatory system. Myocardial weakness and hypotonia; increases coronary circulation.
Digitalis: Heart tonic; weakness of the myocardium, heart failure; sensation as if the heart is "standing still".
Ignatia: Various conditions of hypersensitivity and uncoordination of the heart, following an emotional disturbance, causing anxiety or restlessness; general irritability and sleeplessness.
Kalium phosphoricum: General nervous exhaustion; anemia; myocardial weakness; cardiac conduction disturbances.
Laurocerasus: Cyanosis due to myocardial insufficiency. Sensations of pressure and pain in the chest.
Spigelia anthelmia: Strong and abnormal pulsations which are visible and perceivable; stinging sensation. Pain radiates to the neck and extends down the left arm.
Valeriana: Nervous agitation, hyper-sensitivity, and moodiness. Functional ailments of the heart; elevation of the pulse; cardiac conduction disturbances.
Remedies to be considered
- Acute myocardial infarction: 5-10 drops every ½-1-2 hours of R2, R67 and R55 given in alternation
- Follow-up the treatment with R3, also R44
- Myocardial insufficiency of a mild to moderate degree: R3
- Gastrocardiac symptoms: R5 additionally, BC-25
- Arteriosclerosis and hypertonia: R12
- Constitutional asthma: R43, BC-2
- Arrhythmia: R66 or R22
- Acute asthma: R76, BC-2
- Hypertension: R185, or BIO 85
Clinical experience
- R66 should be considered for chronic cases.
- R2 may be used in conjunction with R66 in the treatment of conduction disorders.
