R19 | Glandular dysfunctions – men
Indications
To support, stimulate, and regulate glandular secretions. Endocrine dysfunction; growth disturbances; obesity or weight reduction due to pituitary dysfunction; hyperthyroidism, goitre, Graves' disease; hypothyroidism (myxedema); Addison's disease.
Mode of action
Sus scrofa (adrenal gland): Fatigue, exhaustion; weight reduction; muscular debility. Allergic conditions, asthma; hypoglycemia; hypertonia, hypotonia; hypotension; edema; cold extremities; polyarthritis.
Sus scrofa (pancreas): Diabetes mellitus caused by pancreatic insufficiency. Stimulates the production of digestive secretions; useful in conditions of malabsorption.
Sus scrofa (pituitary gland): Essential control element of the endocrine system. Regulates kidney secretion and absorption and the electrolyte, fluid homeostasis of the body (anti-diuretic effect).
Sus scrofa (testis): Senility, faulty memory, depression, inferiority complex; functional disturbances of the glands, cryptorchidism, oligo- and azzoospermia, nocturnal enuresis, impotency; increases vitality. Aids in decreasing hyperfunction of the posterior pituitary.
Sus scrofa (thymus gland): Exhaustion; anomalies of growth and development; Down's syndrome.
Sus scrofa (thyroid gland): Regulation of the thyroid gland, interrupted development of thyroid. Mixoedema, hypothermy, hypercholesterinamia, retarded intellectual development, helps drain the organism.
Remarks
The individual remedies have been derived and potentized from fetal tissue. In the homeopathic process of dilution and potentization, the actual physical stimulus is decreased. This, however, results in a paradoxical effect upon the action of the remedy in homeopathic dose, in comparison to its action in crude dose. This is known as the Arndt-Schultz principle, which states that small or medium stimulus (i.e. homeopathically diluted) enhance and normalize function and growth, while strong stimulus (i.e. crude dose) impede or destroy activity. Utilizing this principle it is possible to influence endocrine dysfunctions that are otherwise extremely difficult to treat.
